In the morning of October 19<\/i><\/b>th<\/i><\/b>, International University \u2013 VNU-HCMC (Vietnam) and University of Sydney (Australia) (USYD) held the Agreement Signing Ceremony, which officially paved the way for Vietnamese students to study at one of the best Australian universities.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
USYD <\/i><\/b>is ranked 41<\/span>st<\/span> worldwide and 3<\/span>rd<\/span> in Australia (QS Rankings 2022). <\/span>USYD<\/i><\/b> is a member of the Australian Group of Eight, also the third of this group to be partner with IU. Especially, <\/span>USYD<\/i><\/b>\u2018sBA major is listed in the top 50 worldwide and accredited by the leading accreditation organization AACSB.<\/span><\/p>\n The ceremony was honored to have the presence of representatives from IU\u2019s Board of Presidents, University of Sydney, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc from HCMC Department of Education and Training, Board of Presidents from high schools in partnership with IU, and deans, heads and members of IU\u2019s offices.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The representatives participated in the signing ceremony in the morning of October 19<\/span><\/i>th<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n IU Guitar Club brought an amazing and soothing performance to kick off the event. The performers helped to add an intimate touch to the formal ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa, President of IU shared:<\/span> \u201cWe\u2019re humble standing beside <\/span><\/i>USYD<\/i><\/b> as we are honored to collaborate with such an amazing partner. The twinning program for BA major can be seen as a milestone in our collaboration. More importantly, with this cooperation, the two universities also designed an advanced study path for the excellent Vietnamese students\u201d.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa, President of IU, delivered his welcoming speech to the guests and expressed his delight about the collaboration with the University of Sydney.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n To join the event\u2019s joyful ambiance, Prof. Suresh Cuganesan, Deputy Dean of University of Sydney\u2019s Business School, in charge of the Students & External Partnerships, shared:<\/span> \u201cWhat\u2019s actually connecting IU and <\/span><\/i>USYD<\/i><\/b> is our shared desire to make a difference. You have the desire to become one of the leading research universities in Asia, with the training capability and supply the nation and other countries with a set of skillful workforce, which is also our goal. We hope to learn more from you about internationalizing as you have been executing many activities alike. Honestly, we are excited and very looking forward to the signing ceremony of the twinning program for the BA major with IU.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Prof. Suresh Cuganesan, Deputy Dean of University of Sydney\u2019s Business School, in charge the Students & External Partnerships introduced the University of Sydney and reaffirmed his excitement for the collaboration.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n After the speech, the Agreement Signing Ceremony officially took place. <\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa and Prof. Suresh Cuganesan executed the agreement signing ceremony.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The two shook hands and held the signed agreement.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Assoc. Prof. Tran Tien Khoa delivered the bouquet and the memento to Prof. Suresh Cuganesan and the representatives of University of Sydney.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n This signing ceremony enabled the two universities to reach several agreements toward the twinning program for the BA major (2+2). The curriculum was designed based on the <\/span>USYD<\/i><\/b>\u2019srecognition toward IU\u2019s training quality, lecturers, and facilities. This twinning program between University of Sydney and IU will bring to students the opportunities to spend their first two years in Vietnam and the later two in Australia. On finishing the program, the students can be granted the prestigious diploma from the University of Sydney, Australia.<\/span><\/p>\n Furthermore, <\/span>USYD<\/i><\/b> will exempt IU students from any academic English proficiency requirements based on the school\u2019s recognition toward the students\u2019 English proficiency as English is their medium of instruction at IU for 2 years.
